Pictures!

Okay, yes, it’s been 2.5 years. We’ve had two more kids since the last post (granted, we were really efficient and had them both at once, but still). Sorry. I put a bunch of pictures out earlier today (again, everyone’s been clamoring) and it felt like I really oughta at least mention them. So here we go.

First, to get to the gallery, follow this link, or go to the Gallery / Public Albums / Fall 2008 link in the menu. You’ll see a bunch of photos, mostly from the beach, some from Halloween, and a few just from fun around the house. I’m not sure why the Halloween train photo shows up first, when it’s chronologically the last picture, but whatever. [UPDATE -- The gallery is now simply at the bottom of this post. At least for now, while I play with a new website system.]

Andrea had fun with that train — she pimped it out with little glowstick bracelets taped to the sides of each car, and blinky lights on the last one. Three kids, plus one car for gear and goodies. By the time they got around the neighborhood and back to our house, they had the drill down cold — and tried to climb back into the train after I’d given them their treats!

The shot of Stephen sleeping in a little nook was taken when Andrea was home with him because he was sick. She kept hearing this “thump,” then silence, then a few moments later, “thump – whimper – silence,” then again, etc., Turns out he’d been playing between the china hutch and the wall, and fell asleep, and the thumping was him occasionally turning and banging his head on the wall.

The close up shots of Dominic, Stephen, and Caitlin (from October 27) was a crazy thing they’ve gotten into — we’ll put music and photos onto the AppleTV, and the kids will start dancing around, climbing up onto the coffee table, demanding that I pick them up or just swoop them down onto the floor (before they do a header on their own), and then do it again, and again, and again. Our own little mosh pit, right there in the family room. I think that night I’d managed to stop them early (the other times it really wore me out) and we just got a bunch of cute shots of them.

The turtle picture, and the shot of Stephen on a “windowsill” were from the Outer Banks Aquarium in North Carolina, on our beach trip, and the rainbow was also from that trip. The second full rainbow of the day, this one was so big it wouldn’t even fit in my camera lens when completely zoomed out. Then the pelicans (A most peculiar bird is the pelican) came by and I had to grab the postcard shot.

I think that’s about all I can say for now. Hope you enjoy them, and I promise we’ll start trying harder now.

(btw, Stephen’s wearing a monkey costume, and Caitlin’s a lion. Problem is, the monkey head was too big and kept falling in front of his face. :) )
