Painting the Nursery
We’ve finally made some progress on the nursery. This past weekend, we hosted a “Mother’s Day Brunch and Painting Party” to get us moving. Thursday, we both cleaned out the remaining stuff from the room, spackled holes, and swept up. Friday, David taped everything in sight, and put a coat of blue paint on the ceiling. A second coat went on Saturday morning, and the final coat Saturday night.
Then, early Sunday afternoon, Andrea’s mom, David’s mom and brother, and some friends from Florida all arrived for a meal of French Toast Casserole, followed by painting, painting, and more painting. Andrea couldn’t handle the fumes, and spent the day taking care of our friend’s 2-year-old and generally supervising the effort, while the rest of us taped up the bathroom and painted the bedroom and bath.
Almost everything was finished by Sunday evening, though we had to do a little touch-up last night. Next step: Install a chair rail to dress up the green / yellow border. Then, hopefully, the furniture will arrive.
